| Sunday, 5 July 2009 Written by AELTC Everybody was talking about Wimbledon during Wimbledon, at least on Twitter. 'Wimbledon' was consistently one of the top trending topics on the micro-blogging site for duration of the tournament. Even a misspelling of the Championships – 'Wimbeldon' – was one of the most tweeted words on men's final day.
This year the team at wimbledon.org provided the most up-to-date coverage of The Championships via Twitter. We were the first to break the news that Rafael Nadal would not defend his men's singles title and we provided live coverage of Centre Court and No.1 Court plus observations across three twitter.com/wimbledon, twitter.com/centre_court and twitter.com/no1court. Here is a selection of our best Twitter coverage.
